6 Benefits of Cloud Computing or Software as a Service Solution

The Benefits of Cloud Computing or Software as a Service (SaaS) Compared to On-Premise Solutions

When researching and selecting software solutions, companies today must decide whether to install and support the technology on-premise or select a cloud, or hosted, solutCloud Computer Solutions vs. OnPremise Solutionsion.  With Cloud solutions, also known as Software as a Service (SaaS), all the software and data are managed offsite by the hosting company rather than integrating the technology locally at the place of business.  There are several advantages and benefits to a SaaS solution.

1. SaaS Have Limited Upfront Costs

With Software as a Service solutions there is no hardware or servers to buy, individual software licenses to purchase upfront, on-going consulting fees, or dedicated IT staff required.  Updates and upgrades to the system are done automatically with no additional fees.

2.  SaaS Solutions are Secure

Cloud solutions provide improved security, compliance, and manageability.  SaaS companies have put stringent security measures in place to safeguard customer data, and in most cases, make far greater investments in security technologies than most businesses can afford themselves.   As a result, your data is secure and safe.  Hosted solutions regularly have more redundancy and backup systems in place than on-premise solutions, preventing any loss of data.  So, there’s no need to regularly scheduled backups or allocate in-house resources to facilitate them, because this is done automatically.

3.  SaaS Have Fast Deployment

One of the biggest advantages Cloud computing technologies provide over their on-premise counterpart is the ability to deploy quickly. Because the infrastructure is already in place, cloud implementations are generally easier and faster to integrate and can be completed within days, not weeks or months.

4. SaaS Have Predictable Monthly Fees

Cloud technologies utilize a subscription model with a convenient, fixed monthly fee structure that is typically significantly more cost effective than the maintenance, hardware, storage, license, and IT resources required to support a hosted solution.  Studies have shown that cloud solutions deliver lower total-cost-of-ownership (TCO), time to value, and quicker ROI than on-premise solutions.

5.  SaaS Provides Access to Data Anytime, Anywhere

Cloud solutions are web-based, so every member of the organization can have instant access to their business data 24/7, no matter the location, time of day, of day of week.

6. SaaS Requires Limited IT Resources

No need to hire or train IT personnel with a SaaS solution.  The hosting company manages the integration, deployment, performance, backup, and security of the system.  With cloud technologies businesses stay focused on running their business instead of managing their technology.

There are many technical, financial, and operational benefits to employing a hosted solution for your companies’ technology.  Companies should asses their business needs, resources, and infrastructure when evaluating an on-premise software solution and Software as a Service to determine the best option for them.
